Pattern Release — Flouncer

Flouncer is a delightful mix of garter stitch, brioche, lace, stripes and 3 colors!

The asymmetrical crescent shape is achieved with short rows. Two different lace patterns add interest after rows of garter stitch and brioche. One of the lace patterns is incorporated in the short rows. After a few garter stitch stripes, the shawl is finished with an I-Cord Bind off.

I love short rows! But there are so many shawls out there with short row stripes. I finally came up with an easy way to incorporate stitch patterns like lace into the short rows and to do unusual stripes. And that’s what makes Flouncer special — a simple lace pattern that seems to flow from a point to a large stripe!

This shawl is the first of three shawls that will feature short rows in a surprising and unexpected way!
